Last year at Valentine’s Day I blogged about Valentine’s Day divorces. This year, I’m sure there will still be some of those, but there will also be plenty of weddings, including a big one in Phoenix that may involve dozens of couples.
Arizona will reach 100 years of statehood on February 14, 2012, which of course is also Valentine’s Day. As part of the centennial celebrations, the Superior Court clerks and the Arizona Supreme Court are co-sponsoring group wedding on the steps of State Courts Building in downtown Phoenix at 4pm on February 14, 2012.
There is no extra cost to participate in this event–just the standard $72 marriage license fee. Couples desiring to participate should secure their marriage license by February 6, 2012. Check-in time for the event is at 3pm, and participants must bring their marriage license and government-issued photo I.D.
Additional details about this event are available at www.clerkofcourt.maricopa.gov.
